爱和责任，懂得生和死

The other day one of my classmates talked about cocktails and our teacher mused about why they should be called cocktails. I said because a cock's tail is often such a lovely color... which led to a discussion of roosters in which it transpired that no one but myself had ever kept chickens - or any other animals. This is too sad! All children should have experience with animals.

我家人都喜欢猫

现在我们有四只猫，还有一条狗，和一只公鸡。在孩子们小时候，我们也曾养过很多鸡，兔子，和山羊。我喜欢鸡，觉得它们很漂亮。我爱人说看鸡比看电视有意思。孩子们通过养小动物能学会爱和责任，懂得生和死。
